At their recent AGM at West Mersea Yacht Club, the National 18 class resolved to hold their Championship in 2020 at the Royal Cork Yacht Club from the 2nd – 7th August. This is to coincide with the Royal Cork’s Tricentenary celebrations which will see a host of events on and off the water throughout the summer under the Umbrella banner of Cork 300. Speaking following the announcement, Colin Morehead, Vice Admiral of the Royal Cork and Chairman of Cork 300 remarked how delighted he was that a class such as the National 18’s who have such strong links to the Royal Cork have decided to hold their Championships there in 2020. The event will be the first of three Championship Weeks to be held at the Royal Cork as part of Cork 300 which will see several dinghy classes compete for National and Regional titles.
